Assistant Supervisor/Senior - Level 1
GRADE 7 FLSA (Non-Exempt) - $17-$19.13/hr.
I. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalency
2. One year experience working with special needs population
Skills
1. Effective oral and written communication skills
2. Good problem solving skills
3. Good organizational skills
4. Ability to work independently
5. Ability to observe and document behaviors and situations
6. Familiar with computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel)
7. The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs.
8. Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY State
II. RESPONSIBLE TO: Supervisor
III. MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
1. Understand and follow all agency and program policies and procedures
2. Complete required reports and submit them in a timely manner
3. Assure proper documentation of incidents
4. Assure assigned sites are adequately supplied, maintained, and cleaned
5. Provide orientation to new staff/consumers
6. Assess clients’ functional ability and needs as related to activities of daily living
7. Maintain case records in compliance with procedures and regulations
8. Assure case records are in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations
9. Attend required staff meetings
10. Assist with monitoring, evaluating and providing direction to program staff
11. Inform supervisor of all pertinent program issues on a regular basis
12. Participate in admission/discharge process
13. Assure that all appropriate rehabilitative services are provided
14. Intervene and provide appropriate crises intervention, documenting resident behaviors and progress
15. Participate in and successfully complete all required staff training and development activities
16. Schedule and document emergency safety and evacuation drills
17. May be assigned to participate in rotating afterhours/weekend on call coverage
18. Represent agency and program in the community and with other service providers
19. Regular and substantial contact with individuals receiving services
20. Perform other job related activities as directed by supervisor
