CONTROLLER

 EXEMPT – Salary range $71,552-$86,964.80 annually

 I.                QUALIFICATIONS

 A.              Education/Experience

1.               Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance. 

2.               7 years’ experience in Accounting or related field

3.               3 years’ supervisory experience

4.               Non- profit experience preferred

B.              Skills

1.               Excellent understanding of principles of GAAP

2.               Excellent supervisory skills

3.               Excellent strategic planning and analytical skills

4.               Excellent computer skills; experience with software implementations preferred

5.               Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, and lift up to 40 pounds

II.        RESPONSIBLE TO:            CFO

III.              MAJOR FUNCTIONS

 Administrative/Supervisory

  1. Direct supervision and leadership of department functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  2. Leadership role of annual audit preparation and interface with outside auditors.
  3. Leadership role in software implementation and maintenance projects.
  4. Work closely with CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, including the NYS Consolidated Fiscal Report.
  5. In conjunction with CFO maintain fiscal policies manual.
  6. Oversight of internal auditing, documentation and adherence to GAAP principles.
  7. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  8. Special projects as needed.

Accounting and Business Office

  1. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  2. Prepare operating budgets and monthly financial statements for the Residential Division.
  3. Work closely with Residential Division Director to explore new funding opportunities, monitor programs and analyze financial data.
  4. Ensure all reporting requirements for Residential Division are completed in timely matter.

Catholic Charities Agency & Community Related Activities

1.     Make presentations to Board of Directors and board committees in absence of CFO.

2.     Attend meetings and trainings as needed.

3.     The utmost respect for the confidentiality of payroll and all other sensitive information is expected.
