ICF-Food Service Level 1 – part-time 20 hrs per week
GRADE 6 (non-exempt) – FLSA
I. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education/Experience
1. AAS in Food Service
OR
2. High school diploma or equivalency with one year direct experience with meal preparation and serving
OR
3. Equivalent combination of education and experience
B. Skills
1. Ability to follow a planned menu
2. Ability to prepare meals in a nutritional and pleasing manner
3. Ability to clean and maintain kitchen and dining area
4. Ability to lift 40 pounds and be physically able to perform required duties
5. Valid NYS or Pennsylvania driver’s license
II. RESPONSIBLE TO: ICF Supervisor
III. MAJOR FUNCTIONS
A. Primary Duties
1. Prepare shopping list from menu and purchasing needed items
2. Maintain costs within budget
3. Prepare food for serving
4. Rotate, label and properly store food items
5. Clean kitchen area and maintain equipment/appliances in good working condition
6. Coordinate and prepare food for special events
7. Update changes to residents’ diets
8. Provide snacks or dishes to pass for residents to take to outside programs and events
9. Communicate on a regular basis with dietitian
10. Purchase personal care items (i.e. shampoo, toothpaste)
11. Maintain inventory of food items
12. Participate in and successfully complete all required staff training and development activities
13. Represent agency and program in the community and with other service providers
14. Establish relationship with all residents, family members and advocates
15. Perform other job related activities as directed by supervisor
