Reporting Compliance Concerns
Catholic Charities encourages anyone who witnesses or suspects an ethical or policy violation, to report it to the Compliance Department at 607-729-9166. Submissions will be handled confidentially, and Catholic Charities has a strict policy against retaliation for any reports made in good faith.
Reports can also be made 24 hours a day, toll free through the Corporate Compliance Hotline at 866-460-2024. Anonymous reports will be accepted through both numbers.
Catholic Charities is committed to protecting those we serve from abuse, neglect and other conduct that may jeopardize their health, safety and welfare. The Protection of People with Special Needs Act of 2012 established the New York State Justice Center, who operates a statewide hotline, referred to as the Vulnerable Persons' Central Register (VPCR), to ensure that reportable incidents are promptly reported and fully investigated; that responsible persons are held accountable, and that Providers implement corrective action plans to prevent future incidents.
Catholic Charities Staff are Mandated Reporters and are required to contact the VPCR immediately if they suspect that a reportable incident has occurred. The Justice Center's Vulnerable Persons' Central Register (VPCR) 24/7 hotline number is 1-855-373-2122. Mandated Reporters that have reasonable cause to suspect abuse or maltreatment of children, must also call the New York State Central Register of Child Abuse at 1-800-342-3720.
