Mental Health Housing

A variety of housing levels (transitional to permanent) which assists youth and adults with mental illness in successful community integration and independent living.

Boy's Community Residence

Boys of Courage is a New York State Office of Mental health certified residential program for adolescent males.

    Males between the ages of 12 and 18

Certified Apartments

Provides a more independent setting for individuals who require less staff assistance, although staff are available on a 24 hour basis. Apartments are located in the community and visits from staff are made on an as needed basis.

  • Support Services:

    Self advocacy, community integration, daily living skills, health services, medication management, parenting skills, rehabilitation counseling, skill development, socialization, substance abuse services, symptom management.

  • Eligibility:

    Must be 18 years of age or older and must meet criteria for serious mental illness.

  • Payment:

    Medicaid and/or SSI, SSD, Private

Supported Housing

Assisting people with choosing, acquiring and maintaining permanent, affordable housing. To achieve this outcome it may be necessary to provide initial funding to access housing and services necessary to establish a stable living environment.

  • Support Services Provided:

    Obtaining and furnishing an apartment, rental assistance, application to HUD services, supportive and advocacy services.

  • Eligibility:

    Must be 18 years of age or older and meet criteria for serious mental illness.
