Assistant Supervisor - Level 2
Salary $20.00-$21.65/hr.
I. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in health or human service field preferred
2. Associates degree in Human Services field required
3. Three years’ experience working with special needs population
4. Experience with OPWDD and/or OMH programs
Skills
1. Effective oral and written communication skills
2. Good problem-solving skills
5. Good organizational skills
6. Ability to work independently
7. Ability to observe and document behaviors and situations
8. Familiar with computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel)
9. The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs.
10. Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY State
II. RESPONSIBLE TO: Supervisor
III. MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
1. Understand and follow all agency and program policies and
procedures
2. Complete required reports and submit them in a timely manner
3. Assure proper documentation of incidents
4. Provide orientation to new staff/consumers
5. Maintain case records in compliance with procedures and regulations
6. Assure case records are in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations
7. Attend required staff meetings
8. Assist with monitoring, evaluating and providing direction to program staff
9. Inform supervisor of all pertinent program issues on a regular basis
10. Participate in admission/discharge process
11. Assure that all appropriate rehabilitative services are provided
12. Intervene and provide appropriate crises intervention
13. Assist and/or provide supervision for Representative Payee staff
14. Assist in completing required monthly/quarterly reports
15. Participate in and successfully complete all required staff training and development activities
16. Assume duties of Supervisor in their absence
17. Represent agency and program in the community and with other service providers
18. Regular and substantial contact with individuals receiving services
19. Perform other job-related activities as directed by supervisor
